Cut wire shot and Steel shot blasting method is used in the metal, automobile, and shipping industries. Some of the uses of shot blasting method include the following.

·        Removal of surface contaminants. This is important as it allows the maintenance staff to check the surface for any damages.

·        Provides a surface profile (etch, smoothen, matte finish). This allows better applicability of paints.

·        Descaling

·        Debugging

Advantages of Stainless steel Shot:

·        It provides excellent result on the Metal Surface.

·        High Durability.

·        Cost-effective as the stainless steel balls can be recycled multiple times.

·        Used in both wheel blast systems and air-powered blasting machines.

·        Remove surface contamination and provide a completely clean, smooth surface.

Features of steel shots are as follows:

·        Steel shots have a long working life

·        Steel shots have a uniform size

·        Steel shots provide good service

Steel Shot abrasive media are available in all standard sizes for use in wheel blasting and pressure blasting systems for stripping, cleaning, deburring, finishing, smoothening, and metal surface-improvement.

Cleaning

Stainless steel shot and grit are used in cleaning applications for removal of loose material, rust, and paint coatings from metal surfaces. This type of cleaning is common in the automotive industry (motor blocks, cylinder heads, railway coaches etc.).

Stone cutting

Steel grit is used in cutting hard stones. The steel grit is used in large multi-blades frames that are used to cut the blocks of granite stone into thin slices.

Surface preparation

Surface preparation is multiple operations of cleaning, smoothing, and physical modification of a blasting surface. Steel shot and grit are mainly used in surface preparation for cleaning metal surfaces that are covered with grease, scale, dirt, and rust. It is alsousedfor physical modification of the metal surface like creating roughness for better application of paint and coating. The steel shots are generally employed in shot blasters.

Shot peening

Shot Peening is the repeated striking or injecting of a metal surface by hard shot particles. These impacts produce deformation or change in the metal surface, but also improve the durability or life of the metal surface.

Always Prefer Quality over Price When Selecting the Right Steel Shot

In many industries, steel abrasives, steel shots and steel grits are widely used to clean the surface of metal sheet, rubber, or any other material in a fast and cost-effective manner. Most of the time materials like copper cut wire shots , or aluminium cut wire shots are used for either cleaning or physical modification of a surface. At the same time conditioned carbon steel cut wire shots are used as a preparatory process for metal surface cleaning. In such metal surfaces scales, dirt, paint coatings or rust are cleared off. Additionally, the steel shots are also used for physically modifying the metal surface (like roughening it up) so that better application of paint and coating can take place on it. This shows how important steel shots are in many industrial processes. However, many manufacturing companies when trying to source steel shots from the market look for the cheapest option available. This is done to minimise the cost. However, this can have a big impact on the o...

What Are The Advantages Of Using Steel Abrasive?

Industries all around the world use shot blasting with steel abrasives to clean the surfaces of metal sheets (it is also sometimes used on other non-metallic surfaces). The popularity of using stainless steel shots in the industrial sector is due to three factors; it is highly economical, it does not harm the environment extensively and you can remove contaminants from the surface in a very short period. In this article, we will discuss with you some of the important applications of cut wire shot in the industry . What are the industrial applications of stainless steel shots ? 1). Still, shots are extensively usedto clean the surface of any metal sheet to clean any loose materials, paint coatings, or rust. This type of cleaning is widely used in those industries, wherein you have to clean large surfaces in a very short period like shipping, automobiles et cetera. 2). Steel grits are also widely used to cut through hard stones quickly, which is not possible through tradi...

How Does Dry Blasting Differ from Wet Blasting?

In this article, we will share with you the main differences between dry blasting and wet blasting and when and where they are used. Dry blasting Dry blasting as the name suggests does not use any fluid or water but uses compressed air to force abrasives like stainless steel round cut wire shot   through a venturi nozzle. The main benefits of dry blasting 1). it is cost-effective: One of the many advantages of the dry blasting process is that it is less expensive compared to wet blasting as you don’t need any extra machinery to either regulate the flow of the water or even remove the waste. 2). It is highly efficient: Dry blasting is a very efficient method of cleaning the surface of any metal of any earlier coating in a very short period. 3). It is highly versatile: As dry blasting requires very few hardware pieces and arrangements, you can easily use it in various places with a lot of flexibility. This allows you to use dry blasting in factories, building sites, and ...
